L'Oréal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss Matte

Recently I have been loving L’Oréal products, mainly their cushion foundation, so I decided to delve deeper into the brand. I noticed that they did matte lip glosses and was really intrigued. They are the Mega Gloss Matte Lip Glosses and come in five shades. I picked up the shade Amen as it was one of the most wearable of the colours.

It comes in a rectangular, transparent glass bottle with a black lid which I think looks really classy. I also find it really helpful and practical because it means you can see the colour of the products without opening the bottle or looking at the label! Although it also has the label on the top so if you store it upright it is really easy to identify! Another thing I love about this is the applicator! It is so unique and at first I thought I’d hate it but it proved me wrong! I expected it to be the regular doe foot applicator that you get on most lip glosses but it isn’t! It is similar to a doe foot but it has a curve so it is really easy to fill in the lips but then it has a pointed tip so you can get into the corners and cupid bow without smudging.

I wouldn’t call this a liquid lipstick as it is more of a cream. Actually it is very comparable to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream but I would say I prefer this one because of the applicator but the product itself is very similar! When you apply the product it feels really soft on the lips and it is quite a thick consistency, it is more of a cream than a gloss. It glides on really smoothly and feels really nice! The formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid leaving lips hydrated. It sits well on the lips and while you can definitely feel like it is there, it still feels really comfortable and silky. It has a slight scent which is really confusing; it smells a little fruity but it has a twist which I can’t quite get. The scent is quite similar to the Nude Magique Blur Cream which is a little petrol-y but not bad petrol! This sounds weird but the gloss smells like fruity petrol! When you apply it to it’s full opacity it isn’t completely matte and it has a little bit of sheen to it. After drinking, the sheen is taken away and you are leaved with a stain that stays on for quite a while, through more drinking and even eating which I find really impressive! This stain is completely matte but it doesn’t dry out my lips whatsoever!

The colour I have is 401 Amen. It is an orange toned brown and in swatches it looks quite bold but if you blot the lips a little it looks natural and I love it when blotted down! It goes on quite shiny but after a while it becomes a bit more matte. After drinking it becomes a little lighter and more of a nude with a slight orange tone. And then after eating it becomes even lighter as a nude colour but it looks so natural because it doesn’t look like you have anything on your lips as it’s more of a stain. The colour is absolutely gorgeous! At first I wasn’t really a fan but after time passed and I wore it more, I started to like it and now I really do!

I had never tried one of these before but now I have I can’t wait to try the other shades! This matte gloss comes in five shades: Amen(an orange toned nude), Forgive My Sin(a true cherry red), Raspoutine-Me(an orange toned red), The Bigger The Better(a cerise pink) and Smoke Me Up(a deep pink). They are really good value at just £5.11 and they are available at Beautyspin and Beautyspin US!
